I've written about MTB's adorable neice G before. G is so excited for this baby, she even asked her mom if she could be in the room when the baby is born. Unfortunately, she will be in Oklahoma and I will be in Texas when the baby is born, so she won't even be at the hospital. When we were home a few weeks ago for Thanksgiving, G told me that she was going to be the baby's best friend, but since she already has a best friend, the baby would be her second best friend. How cute is that? She also told me her theory on how babies are made. Prepare your self for some more cuteness.....
Theory #1: (G explained that this was her theory when she was a very little girl, but she never put a lot of stock in this theory.) There is a tree with lots of branches and leaves. The mommy and the daddy stand underneath the tree and God hangs a baby from one of the branches. The mommy and daddy pick the baby from the branch and get to take it home.
Theory #2: There is a machine that looks like a tanning bed. The mommy and the daddy make choices about hair color and eye color using the knobs on the front of the machine. Then the mommy lays down inside the machine, and it puts the baby in her tummy. I asked G how they made babies before machines, and she was at a loss for a minute. After some consideration, she suggested that's where the tree theory comes back into play.
I have no idea if G knows how babies are really made, but I thought it best not to discuss it since it's her parent's job to educate her and not mine. The picture below is several years old, and I don't think her mom would disapprove of me posting it here. I love this pic: G is about 6 years old, and her Uncle MTB is singing to her as we sat around the fire pit on Thanksgiving day.

OMG, I'm melting with the cuteness! If only it could be as easy as one of these scenarios...

Off to find me a tanning bed! Too cute.
That is the cutest thing I've ever heard! The tanning bed theory is my fave. LOL
