Six random things

Minus One tagged me for this meme so here it goes....

1. I sleep with a teddy bear. I have old faithful here at home, and MTB bought a different one for me to keep at the cabin in Hardy. I can't sleep without hugging something.

2. My favorite socks to wear around the house with PJ's came from a sushi bar. No joke. A few years ago, I had lunch with my former, formal mentor at the firm, who also happens to be Lindsay's husband, and we both got a pair of Blue Fish socks as some sort of free holiday give-away. Strange, I know. Bryan gave his to Lindsay - I wonder if she still has hers.

3. MTB and I bought a set of demitasse cups at La Samaritaine in Paris while on our honeymoon. We used some of the money given to us as wedding gifts to buy it, and on the thank you cards MTB wrote, he referred to it as a "cocoa set" because he was afraid his friends wouldn't know what demitasse cups are.

4. I played clarinet in high school. I got the sheet music for the school fight song as a freshman, and by the time I became a junior, I had long forgotten the actual music. Instead of getting a fresh copy, I figured out what the trumpets were playing and I played their part instead. Trumpets always have the best parts in any school fight song.

5. During my morning shower and getting-ready ritual, I have to listen to NPR, but I hate the fund-drives. So I turn off the radio and find another station's online live streaming and listen to Morning Edition that way. Did you know that not all NPR stations raise money at the same time? By the way, I am a member of my local NPR station so I don't feel guilty about skipping the fund-drives.

6. I love picnics and all picnic gadgets. I have several picnic baskets and various accoutrement including blankets and a portable picnic table. MTB and I often have our spring and fall meals al fresco - summer is too darn hot in Texas.
