Good fences?

Neighbor lady had a baby girl 4 weeks ago, and she is too cute! Mom and Dad are of average size, maybe even on the short side, and this little girl weighed 9 pounds, 6 ounces. And she was born 2 weeks early!

One thing we discovered a few years ago is that we and our neighbors have one of these....
Given the proximity of their house......

Our remote and theirs control this....
It was a little spooky the first few times the light in our bedroom came on suddenly without either MTB or me touching the remote. We finally figured out that our neighbor's remote was causing the impromptu illumination, but it was never really a problem before since they went to bed at more or less the same time we did. Since they came home with the baby, however, our lights come on at all hours of the night. They, and we, are looking forward to the baby sleeping through the night. It's not a big deal, and we look forward to getting even in a few months.

It's funny how there is another world in the middle of the night most people don't know about until you have a newborn. Our next door neighbor apparently starts his pickup truck for work every morning at 5AM ON THE DOT. Never heard it until N&A came home. Then we heard it for 6 months straight.

That's our measure of a bad night. Did we hear neighbor start the truck?

Ok, that is hilarious. (Although my first answer was "a remote for your drugs")

That's funny. You may have that same problem with the baby moniter.

Spooky!

Actually, I think we have the same fan. You can kind of see it in the picture of our master bedroom in my October 18th post. I recognized the remote!

We love the fan. Not only is it in our bedroom, it is in our guest bedroom and we are now thinking of putting the same one in the nursery.

Too funny. We have 3 of these with remotes and had to change the codes so each remote only worked with a specific fan. I would look inside the remote to see if this is an option - ours has 4 numbers on sliders. If so, you would also have to change the code at the fan. (;

Our bedroom fan/light turns on and off mysteriously all the time, too! I don't know which neighbors have the same one, though :)

We just turn it off with the wall switch at night. If it were going on in the middle of the night, I'm sure I'd lose my mind!

Too funny! My daughter was on my lap when I opened your blog and she shouted out "We have that!" Must be a VERY popular ceiling fan. Thank goodness we are in a rural location - that would make me crazy! Maybe you could signal each other with morse code if you were ever in trouble.
